Living with them were their sons Peter aged 24 a farmer's son, Michael aged 22, a carpenter and James aged 16, a scholar and their daughter Julia aged 18 alsoa scholar.

In 1901 John aged 67 and a farmer, his wife Bridget aged 44 and their sons Patrick aged 26 a labourer, John aged 20, a labourer and Peter aged 14, Michael aged 12 and James aged 7, who were scholars. Also their daughters, Bridget aged 18 and Margaret aged 16 who were farmer's daughter and Julia aged 9, a scholar were living in the house.

Patrick Nolan aged 70, a general labourer and his wife Bridget aged 70. They had been married for 30 years and had had 4 children, all of which were still alive. Their son, John, aged 25, single and a general labourer was living with them.


Patrick Nolan died on 27th December 1878 in Newport Workhouse. He was aged 72, married and a pauper.

In 1901 Patrick Nolan, aged 58 was living in John Cusack s family tree House number 2 in Bleachyard with his wife Bridget aged 50. His occupation was given as Herd and Caretaker.
Living with them was their son Patrick aged 21, a labourer, daughter Bridget aged 18, a housekeeper and son John aged 13, a scholar.
All the occupants had been born in County Mayo.


On January 27th 1874 Pat Nolan aged 25 a bachelor and labourer of Shramore, Newport was married to Bridget Noone aged 25, a spinster of Shramore, Newport, in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Newport by James Stephens C.C.. Witnesses were Thomas McManamon and Mary McIntyre. Pat’s father was John Nolan, a farmer, who was dead and Bridget’s was Thomas Noone, a farmer.
